Imagine waking to the sunrise over Kilimanjaro’s snow-capped peaks, then spending the next
five days chasing the legendary Great Migration, tracking elusive leopards in the crater of a
volcano, and ending your journey with a sun-soaked beach holiday on Zanzibar
Day 1 – Arrival in Kilimanjaro & Transfer to Arusha
Your Tanzanian adventure begins the moment you land at Kilimanjaro International Airport
(KIA). A professional English-speaking driver-guide meets you in the arrivals hall, assists
with luggage, and whistell you to The Charity Hotel, Arusha (full-board). After a brief rest,
you’ll have the evening to stroll the vibrant streets of Arusha, sample local street food, or
simply unwind with a glass of Tanzanian honey-wine on the hotel terrace.
Day 2 – Arusha → Lake Eyasi (Manyara) – Unlimited Game Drive
Depart Arusha early, cruising northward in a private 4×4 Land Cruiser with a pop-up roof for
prime photography. The road winds through the verdant foothills of Manyara, ending at
Lake Eyasi Safari Lodge on the lake’s western shore. After a hearty full-board lunch, you’ll
embark on your first unlimited game drive. The lake’s wetlands attract a spectacular array of
birds—pelicans, kingfishers, and the occasional flamingo—while the surrounding savannah
teems with buffalo, zebra and the ever-watchful lioness. Return to the lodge for dinner under
a canopy of stars, where the gentle lapping of lake water provides the perfect soundtrack.
Day 3 – Half-Day Exploration of Eyasi & Transfer to Central Serengeti
Spend the morning immersing yourself in the culture of the local Hadzabe tribe, who still
practice ancient hunter-gatherer traditions. A short guided walk lets you try your hand at
spear-fishing and learn about the tribe’s relationship with the land. After lunch, you’ll hit the
road again, heading west toward the heart of the Serengeti. By late afternoon you’ll arrive at
Serengeti Heritage Camp, a tented camp that offers the comfort of a boutique hotel in the
wild. The evening is yours for an optional sunset drive or a relaxed campfire chat with fellow
travelers.
Day 4 – Full-Day Game Drive in Central Serengeti
Today is pure wildlife immersion. An unlimited game drive takes you deep into the central
plains where the Great Migration’s herds thunder across the horizon. Keep your camera ready
for predatory action—cheetahs sprinting after impalas, crocodiles lounging along the Grumeti
River, and perhaps a rare sighting of a silver-backed sable antelope. A picnic lunch is served
in a scenic spot, allowing you to soak in the raw beauty of the Serengeti. Return to Serengeti
Heritage Camp for a well-earned dinner, then unwind on the deck with a drink as night falls
over the endless grasslands.
Day 5 – Serengeti → Ngorongoro Crater – Descent into the Crater
After an early breakfast, you’ll drive north to the world-famous Ngorongoro Crater. The
descent is a highlight in itself, as the road winds down the crater walls offering breathtaking
panoramic views. Once at the floor of the “Garden of Eden,” an unlimited game drive reveals
a densely packed ecosystem: black rhinos, hippos wallowing in the crater’s lake, and a
kaleidoscope of birdlife. The day ends at Marera Valley Lodge, perched on the crater rim.
Here you’ll enjoy a full-board dinner while gazing out over the volcanic basin—a perfect
finale to the safari portion of your trip.
Day 6 – Karatu → Arusha → Zanzibar – Beach Exploration
Bid farewell to the highlands with a short drive back to Arusha, where you’ll board a
domestic flight to Zanzibar. Upon arrival, a transfer takes you to Villa Kiva Zanzibar
Hotel, a stylish beachfront property that blends Swahili elegance with modern comforts.
Spend the rest of the day strolling along the white-sand beach, swimming in the turquoise
Indian Ocean, or simply lounging on a hammock with a good book. Your first evening on the
island ends with a sunset dinner of freshly caught seafood, seasoned with Zanzibar’s famous
spices.
Day 7 – Spice Tour & Stone Town
You’ll embark on a guided Spice Tour, visiting aromatic plantations where cloves, nutmeg,
cinnamon and vanilla are cultivated. The tour is a sensory feast and a glimpse into Zanzibar’s
historic role in the global spice trade. In the afternoon, explore Stone Town, a UNESCO
World Heritage site where narrow alleyways, bustling bazaars, and historic Sultan’s palaces
tell stories of Arab, Persian and European influences. Return to Villa Kiva for a nightcap on
the beach.
Day 8 – Prison Island & Aquarium Visit
A short boat ride brings you to Prison Island, famous for its giant Aldabra tortoises and a
haunting 19th-century prison. After feeding the gentle giants, you’ll snorkel in the clear
waters around the island, spotting colorful reef fish. In the afternoon, a visit to the Zanzibar
Aquarium introduces you to the marine biodiversity of the archipelago. The day concludes
with a final dinner at Villa Kiva, where you can reflect on the week’s unforgettable
moments.
Day 9 – Zanzibar Ferry → Dar es Salaam → Departure
Your journey ends with a scenic ferry ride to Dar es Salaam, followed by a short charter
